Regular Town Board Meeting
January 10, 2012

Sue Ann Bruce called the meeting to order.  The Pledge of Allegiance
was recited.  Roll call of officers was taken and all board members
were present:  Sue Ann Bruce – Chairperson, Scott Khalar – Supervisor,
Mike Trenda – Supervisor, Nora Anne Moss – Clerk, Rose Graves –
Treasurer.  The Clerk verified that the meeting was published and
posted.  S. Khalar made a motion to accept the Agenda.  Mike Trenda
seconded the motion and motion carried.  
There was one change to the minutes.  The correct amount of the CD
amount for the fire department should be $5,365.62.  M. Trenda made a
motion to approve the minutes with the correction.  S. Khalar seconded
the motion and motion carried.
There will be no primary needed in February.
Discussion was held on the quote for the overhead doors chain hoists. 
($900.00)  S. Khalar made a motion to approve this quote and proceed
with installation.  M. Trenda seconded the motion and motion carried. 
This will be paid for out of the fire department budget the cost not
to exceed $1500.00 without additional board action.
S. Bruce discussed the Firewise Grants for the fuel mitigation and
Firewise Fun Day.  S. Khalar discussed the two grants he applied for
from the DNR for road work on roads that border state lands. 
S. Khalar stated that DSC has been out to work on the radios at the
garage.  S. Khalar gave the equipment report.  There was some
electrical issues with the 2007 and the backhoe is all put back
together.  He has obtained quotes from Lulich on some new and used
tractors with brushers.    These will be reviewed and discussed at a
later time.  Scott and the highway workers will go and look at the
used machine.  The road signs have been delivered.  
M. Trenda gave the Grounds, Building and Recycling Report.  Como Oil
has done a minor repair and M. Trenda disposed of some ewaste.
Larry Schaller gave the Constable’s report of two calls.  No activity
for the cemetery and no activity for the plan commission.
Ron Cairns gave the Fire Department report.  M. Trenda made a motion
to approve Ron Smith as a member of the fire department.  S. Khalar
seconded the motion and motion carried.  The first Firewise meeting
will be on January 20th.    Marvin Landreth gave an update on the
planning process and urged people to attend the planning meeting and
get involved.  The suggestions for firewise improvements here on town
hall grounds will be discussed next month.  S. Khalar made a motion to
approve the fire department disbursements.  M. Trenda seconded the
motion and motion carried.  
M. Trenda made a motion to approve the monthly disbursements.  S.
Khalar seconded the motion and motion carried.

S. Khalar made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as read.  M.
Trenda seconded the motion and motion carried.
	Beginning balance:		$  89,550.77
	Total Receipts:			$153,687.70
	Total Disbursements:		$151,481.73	
	Ending Balance:			$  91,756.74

The next Regular Town Board Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February
14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Town Hall.
M. Trenda made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  S. Khalar seconded
the motion and motion carried.  Meeting was adjourned.
