July 23, 2008 Committee Meeting
Meeting called to order @ 6:00 by Willard. Meeting was posted by Anne. One correction to July 9th minutes: Willard contacted Rob Kudick, he was not a former employee of the D.N.R. No public input sign-ups at the town meeting. Willard contacted Wausau Paper Specialty Products, LLC. The future of the large forests owned by them will continue to be managed as they have in the past. Discussion on Douglas County Ordinance addressing Trailers/manufactured homes continued from July 9th meeting. Discussion on Housing continued and the rough draft was accepted by the committee. Willard will send the draft to Mike at NWRPC. Ron was unable to contact Keith on the placement of towers within the township but will continue to do so as the committee addresses the Utilities and Community Facilities section of the plan. Discussion on roads/culverts and the town ordinance. Concerns on how culverts are installed by private property owners and if it is legal for the town to install them at the cost to the property owner so that all culverts would be installed properly. Janice will check to see if it is legal for town employees to do the installation. Willard suggested that the town has a road ordinance and it could be added as #3. The committee agreed. Committee identified Utilities/Community Facilities Recycling location Polar Gas tank Town Hall Airport Old Town Hall Francis Willard School Town garage Emergency Services Cemetery Libraries Committee identified Cultural/Historical Resources Old Town Hall Francis Willard School Archery Club Brule River Conservatory Cedar Island Discussion on goals and objectives for Utilities/Community Facility and Cultural/Historic Resources and would continue this at the next meeting. Sue Ann will look at Utilities/Community Facility sections from other townships and begin the process for goals and objectives for the August meeting. Mike form NWRPC will be at the August meeting. Next Comprehensive Planning meeting will be August 6 @ 6:00 at the Highland Town Hall. Meeting adjourned @ 7:45.
