Comprehensive Planning Committee Meeting MINUTES June 4, 2008 Highland Town Hall Attendance Ron Stone SueAnn Bruce Sherry Amys Mike Kinnick NWRPC Absent Willard Kiefer Bob Johnson Visitors None Meeting called to order by Ron Stone @ 7:00 Agenda reviewed Minutes were not read from the May 7, 2008 meeting. Mike gave comments and suggestions regarding rough draft of the housing and economic development goals and objectives. Housing goal: Support safe and affordable residential housing while maintaining our “Northwood “ (rural) character values. Omit objective #2 Define “Northwood” value as a possible objective. Possible to add an objective referring to existing/current housing? Continue this discussion at the next meeting. Invite a reprehensive from a paper company to the next meeting to explain sales of forestry properties in the town of Highland. This could aid us in the policy writing. Ron Stone will make this contact Ask town if they have an ordinance or policy on new road construction/standards in regards to new development. This could be a policy. Next meeting go through the Housing draft and come prepared with ideas for Economic Development Goals and Objectives. Next meeting July 9, 2008@ 7:00 - change in date due to the July 4th holiday. Mike Kinnick will attend the August meeting. Committee should be prepared to review all drafts, goals and objectives. Mike will bring maps to the August meeting - discussion will be maps, land use, and zoning. Meeting adjourned @ 8:25
