November 5, 2007 Fire Department Meeting
Members present: John Prohaska, Sherrie Craft, Todd Carlson, Matt Carlson, Deanna Welhaven, Kally Ross, Dawn Ross, Mike Ross, Ron Cairns, Marvin Landreth and Ken Wilk. 6:41 The meeting was called to order by Chief John Prohaska. Minutes from the last meeting were given to members. Motion to accept minutes made by Todd and seconded by Matt. Motion carried. Treasurer’s Report was given. Motion to accept the report made by Todd and seconded by Matt. Motion carried. Correspondence: None Fire Association Meetings: Not Attended Committee Report: Bingo – Marvin felt that if the number of people attending didn’t raise that we should give up Bingo. Discussion was held on the amount owed for the bingo machine and the advertising that has not been done for the businesses that donated money toward the machine purchase. Marvin said that there is no money owed on the machine. Other issues that we are concerned about are how the books have been kept up to this point and who paid for what. Someone from our department will attend the next Nebagamon assoc. meeting and request to see the books and discuss changes that we want to make. Dawn will have new posters made up and we will do door to door advertising for the bingo games. Dawn will get the handouts made and give to members to distribute. Many things were discussed at length. We need to ask Parkland to meet with us and discuss what they do and what we are doing. Also we need to ask businesses for donations of door prizes. Fire/EMS Report: 1 Mutual Aid chimney fire – Barnes. Old Business: The date for the pictures with East Central is set for the 26th of November at 6:30 just before our training. Tanker replacement – the committee is still working on the presentation. New Business: Stipends will be figured at the end of November and paid at the December 10th Town Board meeting. A maintenance schedule needs to be set up for our trucks. A motion was made by Sherrie to have everyone work on the maintenance before the business meetings. The motion was seconded by Ken. Motion carried. The Chief and the Assistant Chief will confirm the books have been done for the work. Motion made by Deanna and seconded by Matt to adjourn. Motion carried. Training will be Monday, November 26, 2007 @ 6:30pm at the fire hall. Next Meeting will be Tuesday, December 6, 2007 @ 6:30pm at the fire hall.
