Request for Bids Rocky Lake Road Project

Town of HIGHLAND is requesting bids for the Rocky Lake Road Project

Work to include replacing 1 culvert, adding a 3-4’ extension to another culvert, placing gravel and needed fill, and straightening the road.  Final grading of the road should be included as an add on to the project with the cost separated out.

Request for Bids Catherine Lake Road Project

TOWN OF HIGHLAND is requesting bids for the Catherine Lake Road Project

Work to include:  cleaning and removing debris from ditches, replace 1 culvert, place ditch checks, place gravel from Highway Y to just past 1st culvert on Catherine Lake Road.  Final grading of the road should be included as an add on to the project with the cost separated out.

Request for bids

The Town of Highland is seeking bids to purchase gravel to be truck spread on Rush Lake Road starting at Highway 27 and proceeding east.  Prices should be submitted per ton.  The Town of Highland anticipates spending $48,000 on this portion of the project.  The board needs to determine how many tons can be purchased for this project.  For further info, contact Scott Khalar, Chairperson at (715) 374-3437.  Sealed bids should be submitted to Nora Moss, Clerk, 7316 S County Road S, Lake Nebagamon, WI  54849.  Bids will be accepted until the bid opening at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016.  The Board reserves the right to reject any/or all bids.


Regular Town Board Meeting

The Regular Town Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Town Hall.  The Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. to review correspondence and disbursements.  An Agenda will be posted.  Please note:  The change in day for the meeting is due to the Election being held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

Absentee Voting

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

FOR AUGUST 9, 2016, PRIMARY ELECTION

 

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered to vote in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing. Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or general election or both. You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail or in person.

Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail. The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is: Thursday, August 5, 2016. Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact your municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.

Voting an absentee ballot in person.

The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is: Monday, July 25, 2016.

The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is: Friday, August 5, 2016.

The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on August 9, 2016.  Any ballots received after the polls close will be counted by the board of canvassers if postmarked by Election Day and received no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Friday following the election.

You may request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office, during the days and hours listed below for casting an absentee ballot in person: No in-person absentee voting may occur on a weekend or legal holiday.
